Rice University
   
Burton and Deedee McMurtry College is being built concurrently with Duncan College and is critical to Rice’s Vision for the Second Century, expanding the undergraduate population by 30%. The college was designed for energy efficiency, will meet LEED standards and will include a “Green Roof”. McMurtry College is designed to hold 324 students, a college commons, master house and kitchen/servery. The college is named for its generous donators, Burton and Deedee McMurtry, '56, '56.

Savannah Trims, Inc. has been chosen to furnish the natural looking Cypress Wood Sun Control Louvers at the 8 building corners. The beauty of these natural looking elements adds to the natural looking flavor of the buildings exterior
     
 


Vegas Casino Celebrates Grand Opening

Located in Las Vegas, Nevada area, the new Billion Dollar Resort recently opened to celebration and fanfare. The ‘M’, A new Casino-Resort, rises above the desert floor near Las Vegas, and Savannah Sun Controlers are there hurrying to meet the completion deadline, installing a Overhead-Sun-Control-System of 45 Centimeters (17.7 inches) wide, Airfoil-shaped Aluminum Louvers, in a special Golden Desert Tan finish. The louvers cover about 4,000 square feet of poolside lounge and dining area. The 90 Acre Resort and Casino, designed and built by the Marnell Corrao Group enjoys the benefits of being designed by one of Vegas most prominent Architectural and Development groups, steeped in experience and savvy.


University of California-Irvine, Arts Building

Designed by EHRLECH Architects of Culver City, California, The University of California at Irvine, New Arts Building, will provide 59,000 sq.ft. of technology-driven instruction, research, and performance space when it is completed in 2010. Included in the building are digital arts instruction labs, motion picture studio, visual design studio, rehearsal halls, art gallery, mixed-media performance space, sound design studio lab and offices. This building features 6,000 sq.ft. of 24 inch Vertical Airfoil Sun Control Louvers by Savannah Trims, Inc.
